Hunger is about so much more than food.

Hunger in America

Every community in the country is home to families who struggle with food insecurity including rural and suburban communities. Many households that experience food insecurity do not qualify for federal nutrition programs and need to rely on their local food banks and other hunger relief organizations for support.

Hunger in Our Backyard

Though many of us may not realize the grave disparities that exist in our own communities, people struggle with hunger in every county and congressional district in North and South Carolina. They represent our neighbors, co-workers, kids in our children’s classes, and the possibilities just go on.

Nutrition

Healthy Foods, Healthy Communities

Staff members from our member Food Banks have come together to form Nourishing the Carolinas. Their mission is to accelerate progress toward healthy behavior in Carolina communities.

Coming Together in Times of Need

During times of crisis, Feeding the Carolinas steps in to fill a critical role across our states. Whether responding to a health crisis like the COVID-19 pandemic, or preparing for severe weather, like a hurricane, you can find us on the frontlines.

Coordination & Logistics

Our team helps oversee and coordinate food delivery and distribution, volunteers, and efforts of partners and other relief organizations.

Advocate & Promote

We serve as a voice during times of crisis. Our team communicates directly with the media and utilizes our platforms to raise awareness and move people to action.

Secure Resources

Through our vast networks of donors and suppliers, we work to identify and secure resources (like food and supplies) to meet the emerging needs of communities.
