Residency Requirements

• Residents of Berkeley, Charleston, or Dorchester Counties

• Must meet the Federal income guidelines of 125% of the poverty level

Application Process

• Applicants must call the main number to schedule a pre-screening
• Appointment
• Appointments must be scheduled using the 'Main Number' 
• Online
• Applicants must visit the website and select "Schedule an Appointment" to schedule an appointment or complete a customer contact card.

Documents

• Proof of Identity
• Valid State-issued photo ID or driver's license with the current address of the applicant
• Proof of Income
• Present total income* for all household members within the past 30 days before application, including pay stubs, benefit award letters (if applicable), and/or Zero Income printout if unemployed.
• Proof of sustainable monthly income.
• *Income includes: SNAP benefits, Social Security, pension, retirement benefits, monthly utility check, Unemployment Insurance, alimony, monthly stipends, adoption subsidies, current year tax statement (if self-employed), and child support.
• Social Security Number
• Social security cards for all household members.
• Proof of Emergency
• Delinquent bill for the past 30 days before the application date.
• Eviction notice (if one has been served)
• Provide documentation of an emergency that affected income for all household members within the past 30 days of the application date.
• Verification of the emergency.
